mycotoxin Zeralenon (ZEA) - unprossesed cereals

analysis: mycotoxins

Basically you differentiate between mycotoxins which are produced in the field and those which are produced during storage. Zeralenon, like all fusarium toxins, belongs to the group of field toxins. Zeralenon (ZEA) is mainly appears on corn, seldom on cereals or soy beans. It has an estrogenic effect on pigs and, because of that, it can cause abortions or shifts in the menstruation cycle. There are also indications that other animals react sensitively to this toxin.
