There are a lot of different E.Coli strains with different diseases in different intensities for the human body. The contamination of food is often due to unhygienic conditions during food production or an insufficient heating of the product. One of the worst cases in the last years was a pollution with EHEC which causes diarrhoea, stomach cramps and vomiting.
